ECCBC Professional Development Program

The city of Boulder on behalf of the Early Childhood Council of Boulder County (ECCBC) has received grants from the Temple Hoyne Buell Foundation and the Colorado Department of Education to provide professional development opportunities for child care providers in Boulder County.   

Project Period: July 1, 2009 – June 30, 2010

Goals & Objectives 


Goal #1.
Early care and education professionals in Boulder County will proceed on a recognized career development path.  Activities include:

  • Colorado Early Childhood Professional Credential drive
  • Financial incentives for college level coursework
  • Post Secondary Options in ECE Career Fair

Goal #2.
A range of professional development opportunities that meet identified needs of early care and education professionals will be available in Boulder County.   Activities include:
• Monthly Training Calendar
• Directors Training Series for college credit
• Professional Pathways Training Series
o Exploring Social Emotional Competence
o Video Nights – Social Emotional Comptency
o EcoHealthy Child Care Workshops
o Naropa University Mary Culkin Issues in Education Training Collaboration
o Annual Parade of Classrooms
• Infant Toddler Caregiving Training
o Expanding Quality
o Ounce Scale
